We purchased this duplicate strapless newspaper corset to compare it to the one we make. You can catch my review on TikTok (part 1) (part 2) but here is a writeup of what we found.
First up the fabric is very different. If you purchased this item from AliExpress based on the photos they “borrowed” from us then you would likely be disappointed with the color difference. Where our fabric is a very light sand color, quite thick, and holds its shape, the Ali version has a pure white background, is very light, and stretchy.
Secondly, there is a difference in the make. The 2 most obvious things are that where our corset is lined, the Ali version is not, and our corset has boning, where the Ali version does not.
Overall, the AliExpress version is more like a boob tube than a corset as it does not provide any support and you can easily put it on over your shoulders without undoing the ribbon. As a boob tube, it is a decent item and we even had comments on the TikTok video that said I look good in it! So really the only issues here are describing the item as a corset top, when it offers no support, and using photos without permission that misrepresent the item for sale. At the end of the day, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but we hope you are not fooled into thinking these are our corsets for sale on Ali!
